Michael Elrad
Michael Elrad co-founded GEM in 1994. Michael serves as a Chairman of the Executive Committee where he oversees corporate strategy and acts as Executive Chairman of GEM Realty Securities, advising on broad platform strategy and investment themes. Additionally, as a member of the Investment Committee, he is involved in setting firmwide investment strategy.
Michael launched GEM Realty Securities in 1998 and served as its Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager through 2016. Prior to GEM, He was a Vice President in the loan restructuring group at JMB Realty Corporation.
Michael is a board member of the Digestive Health Institute at Northwestern Medicine and is actively involved in the YPO and CEO organizations. In 2022, he completed a ten-year term as a member of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania’s Undergraduate Executive Board. Michael received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
