Barry Malkin

Barry Malkin co-founded GEM in 1994 and serves as a Senior Advisor. Prior to this role, Barry was an Executive Chairman of GEM Realty Properties, advising on broad platform strategy and investment themes, and a member of GEM’s Executive, Investment, and Risk Committees.

Before joining GEM, Barry was a Vice President at JMB Realty Corporation. Prior to that, he was a Vice President in the restructuring group at JMB International in London and worked in the corporate finance department of Kidder, Peabody & Co.

Barry is a member of the Board of Directors for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and the Holocaust Educational Foundation of Northwestern University and serves on the Board of Trustees for Tulane University. He received a Master of Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University.
